Russia was afraid of HIMARS in Japan and began to threaten the "inevitable response"
The Japan Self-Defense Forces, as part of military exercises at the Yausubetsu training ground, used the HIMARS MLRS that frightened the Russian Federation.
It is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the page of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
"On October 12, a strong protest was made to the Embassy of Japan in Moscow in connection with the testing of HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems by the Japan Self-Defense Forces on October 10," the message says.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, this took place in close proximity to the Russian borders. Also, the Russian side was surprised by the mentions in the Japanese media about these training events, which were associated with Russian aggression in Ukraine.
"We consider the military exercises that took place as a challenge to ensuring the security of the Far Eastern region of our country and insist on the immediate cessation of such actions," the Russian Foreign Ministry added.
The Russians warned the Japanese side "of the inevitability of retaliatory measures in order to block Russia's military threats."
Recall that earlier the United States transferred HIMARS installations with long-range missiles to Japan.
Earlier it became known that Japan is considering the deployment of thousands of long-range cruise missiles to strengthen its defense capabilities in the event of likely attacks from China.
