The Kremlin commented on the unwillingness of the Czech Republic to buy Russian gas
There is more than one Czech Republic in Europe, and other countries may have other positions on the purchase of Russian gas. This was announced today, October 25, by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the statements of the Czech minister about Europe's refusal to buy Russian gas through a hub in Turkey.
“Mr. Jozef Sikela probably knows that there are many more countries on the European continent than the Czech Republic, and they may have different positions at different stages, at different moments, different adequacy in the perception of what is happening, and so on and so forth,” said Peskov, commenting on the possibility of the influence of such statements from the Czech Republic on the Russian-Turkish negotiations on the creation of a gas hub.
Recall that earlier, in connection with problems on the Nord Stream gas pipelines, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Russian Federation could move gas transit to the Black Sea region and Turkey. The Kremlin believes that the initiative to create a gas hub in Turkey is in the interests of Moscow and Ankara. In turn, the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, Józef Sikela, said that Prague expects Europe not to buy Russian gas through Turkey, and added that there is a serious discussion in Europe about gas and oil supplies and that imports from Russia are a problem.
